Our Story
Dato' Lee Leong Hock, DSDK AMK JP
Dato’ Lee Leong Hock JP began his entrepreneurial journey in 1986 when he established Hock Guan Huat Trading, a fabric distribution business where he was responsible for securing customers and overseeing trading operations. Hock Guan Huat Trading was subsequently dissolved.
In 1990, he incorporated Megaprima Textiles Sdn Bhd, a company involved in fabric dyeing, and led its operations and business development activities. The company ceased operations and was dissolved in 1992.
He went on to incorporate Intertex Trading in 1993, which was involved in the distribution of fabric in Kedah. He was responsible for growing the customer base and overseeing distribution operations. Intertex Trading was subsequently dissolved.
In December 1994, he ventured into apparel trading by establishing Entertex (M) Sdn Bhd, where he was concurrently appointed as a director. In this role, he has been responsible for providing strategic direction and developing the business.
In 1996, he established Hock Guan Huat Textiles Sdn Bhd, involved in retail fabric sales, further complementing his distribution business. The company ceased operations and was dissolved in 2002.
Leveraging his experience in the fabric and apparel industry, he co-founded Pinly Garment (M) Sdn Bhd with Loh Tau Sing in May 2003. He was appointed as a director on the same date, overseeing business planning and corporate direction.
In April 2007, he co-founded Pasaraya MU Sdn Bhd with Loh Tau Sing and was appointed as a director. He continues to be responsible for business planning and strategic direction for the company.
In June 2015, he incorporated Exhaust Garment (M) Sdn Bhd and was concurrently appointed as a director, where he oversees the company’s business planning and corporate direction.
He is currently the Vice Chairman of the Persatuan Pedagang Tekstil, Pakaian dan Barang-Barang Berkaitan Seberang Perai and a Member of the Penang Premium Business Enterprise Association.
Dato’ Lee was appointed to the Board of EMPG Group in 2022 as Executive Director, where he plays a key role in formulating growth strategies, corporate direction, and overseeing finance and business development activities of the Group.
Loh Tau Sing
Loh Tau Sing began his career in December 1988 as a Labour Supervisor at a palm oil estate in Kampung Dew, Perak, where he oversaw planting and harvesting activities. Driven by entrepreneurial ambitions, he started trading apparel in night bazaars during the night.
In January 1991, he resigned from his supervisory role and ceased trading to join Plaswin Garment Industries (M) Sdn Bhd as a director. He managed operations, customer relations, and apparel production, gaining valuable experience in production and supply chain management.
In December 1999, he joined Pinly Enterprise, a partnership co-owned by his wife, focusing on apparel trading, which ceased operations. Leveraging his industry knowledge, he co-founded Pinly Garment (M) Sdn Bhd. . In February 2004, Pinly Enterprise ceased operations and was terminated.
In March 2004, he joined Pinly Garment which was co-founded by his wife, Dato’ Lee and 2 other shareholders as Operations Director.
In 2007, he co-founded Pasaraya MU Sdn Bhd with Dato’ Lee Leong Hock JP, where he served as director responsible for daily retail operations.
In October 2016, he was appointed as a director of Pinly Garment. He is responsible for identifying contract manufacturers to undertake the manufacturing of apparels traded by Pinly Garment. In December 2016, he was appointed as a director of Exhaust Garment and is responsible for overseeing the operations of the company. In December 2017, he was appointed as a director of Pasaraya MU where he oversees the operations of its retail business.
He is a current member of the Persatuan Pedagang Tekstil, Pakaian Dan Barang-Barang Berkaitan Seberang Perai.
Following an internal restructuring of the Group, Loh Tau Sing was transferred to EMPG Group, the holding company of our subsidiaries, in 2022 to assume the role of Chief Executive Officer.

Beyond serving wholesalers and retailers, Pinly also markets its own brand, catering mainly to the elder customer segment with practical and timeless designs.

How EMPG Form?
Empg Group Berhad was established on July 1, 2022, as an investment holding firm with subsidiaries including Exhaust Garment Sdn Bhd, Pasaraya MU Sdn Bhd and Pinly Garment (M) Sdn Bhd. Headquartered in Kedah, Malaysia, the company is primarily engaged in designing, marketing, and selling business and casual apparel for both men and women, as well as school uniforms under its own brands. Additionally, the company serves as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for third-party brands and house brands for a large format retailer in Malaysia. The distribution channels include 16 company-owned retail outlets in the Klang Valley, over 400 consignment counters at large format retailers and standalone retail outlets nationwide, as well as an e-commerce channel.
Our History
Our Company was incorporated in Malaysia on 1 July 2022 under the Act as a public limited company under the name of EMPG Group Berhad.
We are an investment holding company. Through our subsidiaries, we are a multi-brand fashion group in Malaysia that is principally involved in the design, marketing and sales of apparel products with a focus on mass-market men, ladies and children’s wear.
The history of our Group can be traced back to the incorporation of Pinly Garment in 2003 by our Executive Chairman, Dato’ Lee, Madam Sin (the wife of our Managing Director, Mr. Loh) as well as other business associates. At this point in time, Mr. Loh joined Pinly Garment where he was involved in business development and managing the overall daily operations of the company. In the same year, Pinly Garment commenced operations in the design and marketing of apparel for men, women and children. Through Pinly Garment, we launched our first brand, Ventine, in the Malaysian market that is focused on the wholesale of school uniforms and general clothing. At this point in time, Pinly Garment began engaging foreign manufacturers to produce our apparels. Pinly Garment was then operating from an industrial premise owned by Dato’ Lee.
Prior to the founding of Pinly Garment, Dato’ Lee and Mr. Loh were involved in the fabric and apparel industry. They met through business associates. Realising that they shared a common goal of making affordable, stylish and good quality apparel available to the market, they decided to venture into business together through Pinly Garment.

- Acquired the Exhaust brand, shifting focus to specialty men's clothing stores and departmental stores on consignment basis.

- Completed the acquisition of Pasaraya Kawan Mu Sdn Bhd by Pasaraya MU.

- Pasaraya MU received ISO 9001:2015 certification for "Retailer for Bags." Launched "Hummer" brand in the Malaysian market through Exhaust Garment. Apparel sourcing services for Aeon in-house brand commenced.
2023
- Launched official TikTok accounts for Exhaust Garment and Pasaraya MU, expanded online sales platforms, secured trademark licenses for "Hummer" and "Oxen," and achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification for both Exhaust Garment and Pinly Garment.

- Expect to launch a new brand, Oxen, in the Malaysian market through Pinly Garment in the last quarter.
